After reading “A smarter Way to Plan for Demand” by Dave
Blanchard, I noticed that planning could negatively or positively affect how
strategies can be carried out. The article went to explore the main functions
of supply chain management. This included how experts use the concept of
“accurate forecast” to foresee how the market will react when there is a new
product launch.” The main point is if you can predict the way of the market, a
company will be more enforced to release a product or not.
The best way to be successful in demand scheduling includes
clearly describing the model, forecasting from different sources, using company
demand abilities and gauging location and customer demand. This article relates to week two’s topic on
how to plan demand and supply effectively in supply chain.
